Immediately after the presentation of Xiaomi Mi10 Pro, the experts of the reputable laboratory DxOMark delivered their verdict to the new product. The flagship device met all the expectations of fans and the manufacturer – it was recognized not only as the best camera phone in the world, but also won first place in the ranking of mobile audio systems.
The main camera of the Xiaomi Mi10 Pro is represented by four sensors: the main one at 108 megapixels with a Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor, a 12 megapixel camera with a short telephoto lens, an 8 megapixel sensor with a long telephoto lens, and a 20 megapixel sensor with ultra-wide-angle optics. The gadget can record video in 8K resolution and is equipped with a 50x digital zoom.
During testing, DxOMark experts identified the following advantages of the flagship main camera: the Mi10 Pro matrix is practically noise-free, exposure and white balance are calculated without errors, a good level of detail at different degrees of approximation is noted, realistic and correctly calculated background blur, and a high level of detail at bright lighting when shooting with a wide-angle lens.
Among the shortcomings of the novelty, the experts attributed periodic errors of focusing on faces, the predominance of red in some shooting conditions, the presence of digital noise in the shadow area, artifacts when shooting in HDR mode and in low light.
Strengths of the Mi10 Pro when shooting video, very good stabilization, fast autofocus, as well as good detail both on the street and indoors were noted. The Xiaomi flagship did not do very well with the miscalculation of a wide dynamic range. The presence of noise with insufficient lighting was also noted.
The total result of Xiaomi Mi10 Pro was 124 points, which allowed him to take the first place in the rating of DxOMark camera phones.
Experts also tested the quality of audio recording and playback – according to their verdict, Mi10 Pro transmits timbre and low frequencies well. Fans of music and films, according to experts, will “enjoy the impressive sound stage, which provides a good opportunity to localize musical instruments and other sound sources.” The accuracy of sound transmission was noted when recording audio using the built-in microphones of the gadget. In addition, the device transmits voice well during telephone calls.
Nevertheless, gamers may face the fact that they will constantly close the speaker with their hands, holding the device in landscape orientation, and the maximum volume of the smartphone is somewhat inferior to other flagship devices. In the regular “Notes” application, the voice sounds somewhat unnatural, and there is characteristic noise on the audio recordings. But even taking into account these shortcomings, the smartphone scored 76 points, taking first place among all the gadgets tested by the laboratory.
Xiaomi Mi10 Pro will go on sale on February 14 at a price of $716.
