Microsoft will release its own antivirus for iOS and Android

The Microsoft portfolio includes not only the Windows operating system and the Office suite. One of the software maker’s developments is a proprietary antivirus recognized by AV-Test experts as one of the best on the market . Soon, not only PC owners will be able to use its antivirus – the company will release a mobile version of the application for devices running Android and iOS .

The company announced that it is preparing a release of the Defender Advanced Threat Protection software solution for mobile operating systems. The list of application features will include features such as preventing the loading of insecure pages and protecting gadgets from phishing attacks. Microsoft Vice President Rob Lefferts emphasized that “Android and iOS are pretty safe, but malware does exist on these platforms.”

The corporation has previously released Defender ATP software for Windows and macOS. The application offers features such as preventative protection, threat detection and automatic scanning. The date of the appearance of the mobile version of Defender on Google Play and the App Store will be announced by the developer later.
