PHP Settings Section of the Control Panel

Our developers may not come to work, but they work equally well from home because of the Coronavirus outbreak. They keep working hard on a couple of important projects. We have made a big update to the PHP Settings section of the Web Hosting Control Panel.

Here is what the new modifications are about.

Visual changes to the PHP settings section

With the expansion of new choices and settings in the PHP settings section after some time, it has become important for the interface to turn out to be more easy to use for both, novices and specialists.

This is the reason why we made some visual improvements to the manner in which the options are organized.

Presently, all php.ini settings have been sorted out in their own different menu.

Also, we’ve included a new tab. In this tab clients can assign different PHP variants to every one of their existing hosts.

These changes were made to make it easier for users to manage their PHP settings.

Functional changes to the PHP settings section

The first change is opportunity to assign particular PHP version to each host in a given web hosting account.

While this was already possible via the “Edit Host” option in the Domain Manager, users can now do it much faster from a dedicated menu.

This makes it a lot simpler for clients to deal with the PHP variant for different hosts in the same account.

Also the php.ini editor has received a significant change

Until now, users have been able to edit the php.ini file for the currently selected PHP version only.

But now users will be able to choose easily PHP version they want to modify without needing to set that PHP version as active for their account.

choose active version easily

This option can be very useful. This can help if someone has the need to manage multiple hosts running different PHP versions for compatibility reasons.

Users will now be able to easily edit the PHP settings for a given version. In other words it is no longer necessary to change PHP version for whole account to specific version. This avoids the possibility to compromise the functionality of the other sites.

This gives users who manage multiple sites within one account much more freedom and flexibility.

Jail Host option

With the “Jail Host” option all hosts are completely secured from each other.

Thanks to its host insulation capabilities, none of the other hosts will be affected if something goes wrong.
